Bocui Pearl is a sales office built underground in Guangzhou, China. The site is divided into two parts by a city road twelve meters wide, and the building passes beneath the road to connect the whole area. The underground position reduces noise from traffic and from the city. Three mushroom-shaped structures rise to the surface and serve as vertical circulation. Visitors pass a sunken courtyard, a spring and the main building. White aluminum panels and clear glass form a simple facade. A rainwater collection system and a solar system save water and energy.
